Hi there, I’m David, and first, let me sincerely thank you for visiting Ole Dog New Tech, a website dedicated to helping to make technology easy and accessible for seniors over 60.
Background Story
Now, let me give you a little background as to how this website came to be, and what it’s all about. I currently live about 4 hours away from my the majority of my family, meaning I tend to see them every other month or so. After making the 4 hour drive and arriving at my parents’ place, 2 things usually happen. First, I’m greeted with a big hug, and then… I’m put to work and handed an even bigger list of “How-do I do this”, or “why can’t I do that” tech-related questions! Luckily for them (and me), I love helping them solve all of their tech-related questions.
You see, once you receive the title of family tech guru, there’s really no turning back, and in mine, that’s me. Now, as much as I enjoy helping my family members with their questions, I also realized that there’s likely a lot of people out there who, like my older family members, don’t have the advantage my generation does of having grown up along side of technology. Instead, they feel overwhelmed by their devices, unsure of who to ask for help, and not wanting to feel like a burden constantly reaching out to younger family members with all of their questions – which is EXACTLY why I started this website.
Objective
At Old Dog New Tech, the goal is simple: Making technology easy and accessible for seniors over 60 with easy to understand guides based on questions you have about your smartphones, computers, or any other device. Whatever it is, I’m here to help. This site is a supportive space where you’re free to ask any tech-related questions without feeling like a burden. Think of me as your Online Tech Nephew, helping you to navigate through the ever-changing world of technology!
